Each one of these children have done some amazing stuff in the last 3.5 - 5 years of training with me. Zach could have tested months ago, but chose to wait months so that his parents would be able to attend the testing. Louana's parents told her that if it was important that she would have to pay for the testing from her own money. So she got all the money from her Piggy bank and paid for her test herself! Wow! That's an amazing lesson from some really awesome parents!! The parents gave her the money back after the test as a reward for her achieveing her goal!!! Just awesome! Jimmy had some problems with the terminology test, so everyone in his family helped quiz him on the terms, using flash cards and practice tests to get better. Mrs. Krystal spent hours, just her and him, sitting in the office going over terminology. In the end he scored 100%!!!! That's an awesome team effort from everyone involved in Jimmy's life! Great job Team Jimmy!
Each child has great stories like that. Each kid has suffered and endured to become the martial artist they want to be. Aria focused and really pulled it off when it came time, taking punches in the face and giving them right back! Isaac, the oldest of the group, stood up to some solid sparring, proving he deserved that belt and earning the respect of everyone in the room! Tyler's quick feet and good strategy really paid off in sparring and Brady mananged to keep fighting with no air in the lungs and no gas in the tank! Each one really did a great job and earned their rank.
I am always proud of kids when the achieve this huge goal. It's a rite of passage, a test of skill, knowledge and heart. I am honored to be a part of their lives and be entrusted with helping them become the awesome young men and women they go on to be!
